I read a thought-provoking article in the Huffington Post this week. Authored by a New York plastic surgeon, it asks “What is beauty?” He concludes beauty is tri-fold: physical health, psychological health and personal beauty. I agree. Do you?
If you’ve been to the drugstore lately, you may have noticed a revamped Essie display with a new line of nail treatments. My nails are in desperate need of therapy (case in point see before pic below) so with great hope I selected Beam Up Instant Nail Whitener for soft, weak nails.
Did you know nail ridges get deeper with age, just like the lines on our face?
With two coats, nails did instantly look better — that healthy pink color. The coverage is heavier than clear, but not as thick as a nude colored polish (though there aren’t streaks either like many light-hued polishes). I’m just happy my ridges are camouflaged. And the wear was impressive, I made it 5 days without touch-ups.
The Essie nailcare line offers 16 products — from base to top coats and “special needs.” Products ($8 each) are segmented by nail issue: soft and weak, dry and brittle, or healthy and normal.
