Brighten & Define Eyes Behind Eyeglasses

At some point in the aging process, most of us will need to wear eyeglasses. According to my eye doctor, eyesight deteriorates starting at age 40. I guess I’m ahead of my time, because I needed prescription lenses in my early 30s (at work, presentations are one big blur without them).

Surfing, I came across this how-to video by makeup artist Mally Roncal for women who wear eyeglasses. Eyes and brows can disappear behind frames, so Mally tells us it is imperative to brighten and define for “gorgeousness.”

Step-by-Step to Brighten & Define Eyes

  1. Conceal dark shadows around eye
  2. Apply a champagne colored eyeshadow on lid
  3. Define crease with bronze or brown eyeshadow
  4. Line upper inner rim of eye with black eyeliner (thin works best)
  5. Line underneath eye with navy eyeliner
  6. Apply 1 coat of mascara (2 may make lashes hit frames; I’ve done this and it’s annoying)
  7. Fill-in brows and keep in place with brow gel
