N.Y.C Color impressed the heck out of me when I tested various eyeshadow for brown eyes and it came out #1…fabulous wear and even better price…and I wanted to check out more of the line. One of the items I picked up was the N.Y.C. Color Mosaic Face Powder in the shade Translucent Highlighter Glow. The four “harmonizing hues” claim to “brighten skin, minimize flaws, help reduce shine and absorb oil,” but do they really?
“Yes!” The silky textured powder gives a nearly poreless finish to my skin (truly amazing) and the color isn’t too light, like many translucent shades. It feels and applies like a premium powder — wear it over makeup or alone.
The best part? It keeps my oily skin shine-free longer, which also helps my makeup last. Not all day mind you, but a few hours longer than normal (so I’m blotting at 2PM versus 11AM). And this earns it a spot in my makeup bag!
There are 6 color choices — Bronze Glow looks very promising. The other shades (pink, peach, rose, mocha) seem like they would work best as a blush or cheek highlighter.
With such great prices, somethings gotta give. N.Y.C. product packaging is really cheap (flimsy plastic that I’m sure will break soon as it bounces around my purse) and I would pay an extra few dollars for a mirror.
I grabbed the N.Y.C. Face Powder in a BOGO at Rite Aid when I purchased the same priced eye shadow palette. It retails for $4.99 at the drugstore, a bit less at Target and other larger retailers.
