Shiny gold earrings and a bangle look so pretty against the skin, especially in the summer sun. And 18K gold is even more beautiful with its buttery yellow color. But who can afford a jewelry collection the price of a car?
I’ve discovered two lines that create gorgeous pieces in 18K gold over sterling silver — at a fraction of the “real” price: Veronese and Argento Vivo. Like big hoops and stacked bangles? Check. Prefer to make a quieter statement with a classic chain? Got it.
Whether you’re a simple or opulent girl, you can lavish yourself and still pay the bills!
Veronese is a QVC brand. Pieces are crafted in Italy (jewelry mecca of the world) and gleam like the real deal. I have owned pieces for years that glisten as much today as when brand new. Veronese offers traditional and trendy pieces starting at $30.
I reach for an Argento Vivo piece to add a stylish flair to an outfit. The collection is carried at department stores such as Macy’s and Nordstrom, as well as online. Be sure the tag says 18k gold over sterling silver (AV manufactures lines that are not). One complaint: Argento Vivo pieces tarnish so a polishing cloth is required to keep the gold lustre.
Argento Vivo retails at $30 – $150. Occasionally I find a discounted piece at Nordstrom Rack, so if you’re a bargain shopper keep an eye out.
